Introducing A Unique Heart Surgery Recovery Aid
After open-heart surgery, recovering patients need to cough to remove phlegm from their lungs as well as open the air sacs at the bottom of the lungs. To help relieve the pain and pressure that coughing, laughing, and sneezing creates on the stitched wound, the patient typically squeezes a towel or pillow against their chest. The Cardiac Bear is stuffed very firmly for this purpose and offers a more effective yet fun alternative.
If desired, the bears can be fitted with doctor’s scrubs bearing the hospital's logo. Volume discounts are available.

The measurements of the bear are: 17 1/2 " tall by 14" wide by 8" thick at his thickest part which would be the head because he had a rather large nose! The mid-section which is the best area for the patient to hold against against his/her chest is a good 6" thick. This holds firm and doesn't "squish" like a child's cuddly bear when compressed against the chest for coughing. We have found that the bear shape is a much appreciated alternative to a regular pillow shape or heart shape because the bears arms and legs easily reachable if it falls off the bed. Custom shapes are available for quantity ordering, so please call us to discuss your needs.
The bear comes with a free white tee shirt, but if you would like to upgrade to a green Dr. Scrub outfit, there is an additional $1.00 charge added on. Just specify that option when placing your order. If you are an individual ordering, there would not be a hospital imprint on the clothing, but would be blank. For hospitals ordering in quantity, we would need your hospital information/logo or whatever message you would like on the clothing and we would have that imprinted for you. Please call for a custom quote 8am. to 8pm.
